Parts Washers for Automotive Transmission Rebuilding

Transmission rebuilding demands an exacting standard of cleanliness. Valve bodies with spool bores measured in thousandths of an inch, clutch packs sensitive to residual fluid contamination, thrust washers and needle bearings that must be free of metallic debris — every component needs to be genuinely clean before reassembly. Magido aqueous parts washers are the professional choice for transmission shops that take quality seriously.

The Transmission Cleaning Challenge

Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is an effective lubricant designed to resist displacement from metal surfaces. Burnt ATF, clutch material dust, metallic debris from worn components, and varnish deposits from degraded fluid create a complex contamination profile that is difficult to remove without the right equipment.

Solvent sink washers and manual scrubbing cannot reliably clean the internal passages and small orifices of a valve body. Residual contamination left in a rebuilt transmission is a warranty claim and a comeback waiting to happen. The right aqueous washer eliminates this risk.

Valve Body Cleaning: The Critical Step

The transmission valve body is the hydraulic control center — a machined aluminum casting with dozens of internal passages, check balls, solenoid bores, and spool bores with tolerances of ±0.0005". Any residual varnish, metallic particle, or debris in these passages causes shift quality issues, pressure problems, or outright failure.

Magido's Agita immersion washers submerge valve bodies in heated aqueous solution with high-energy fluid agitation that drives cleaning action into every passage. For shops doing high valve body volume, the front-load X53 spray cabinet handles full valve body cleaning in a single automated cycle.

Housings, Cases, and Bell Housings

Transmission cases, bell housings, and extension housings are large, heavy castings with internal passages, threaded bores, and machined sealing surfaces that must be clean and free of gasket material, RTV, and ATF residue before reassembly.

Magido's front-load spray cabinet washers (X53, FLS series) are sized for full transmission cases — up to 1,760 lbs capacity with turntables up to 55" in diameter. The automated spray cycle cleans all external and accessible internal surfaces while the technician prepares other components.

Small Components: Clutch Pistons, Drums, and Steels

Clutch pack components, snap rings, thrust washers, and small stampings are high-volume, repetitive cleaning tasks in a busy transmission shop. Magido's rotary drum washers (Spira series) handle bulk quantities of small parts continuously — parts load in one end and emerge clean at the other without batching or manual handling between pieces.

For mixed small-part batches, top-load spray cabinet washers (X51 series) provide flexible basket loading that accommodates varied part sizes in a single cycle.
